Hello and welcome to my profile! I am excited to help you with your checkride and look forward to meeting you. There are lots of paperwork tasks and record keeping in the days leading up to a checkride, so I will outline how to schedule your Checkride, detail the fee structure, and provide some tips to ensure the process goes smoothly. Once these steps are completed, your checkride date will be confirmed on my calendar. Once a date is confirmed, I will send you a XC scenario via email, which will be used during the checkride, as well as a checklist of items to have completed and verify in your logbook that all qualifications are met. For Multi add ons, I am current in DA-42 and PA-44 aircraft. I am working on finding time to conduct multi check rides in more common twins and will update those as I obtain the currency, but as of now, I can only conduct multi checks in a DA-42 and PA-44 For ASEL, I am eligible in most aircraft and that can be discussed further if it is outside of a typical Cessna, Piper, or Beechcraft.
Checkride Fee KPRC:
Initial Checkride (PVT, IRA, CAX, ASEL/AMEL): $1200
Recheck: $600 regardless of the Disapproval being from a Ground or Flight Task
-Disapprovals from another Examiner- Fee Will be established on case by case
Retest for Discontinuance (within 60 days)
-Unavoidable Reasons: No charge (Unforeseen WX Conditions, MX Issues Arising During the Checkride, Sudden Illness)
-Ineligible applicants will be charged a 50% fee if the ineligibility cannot be corrected during the exam. A discussion will take place to ensure that all requirements are met prior to the next check attempt
-Delayed start time to checkride due to incomplete or inaccurate paperwork during applicant/aircraft validation, not having Navigation Log fully completed, unairworthy aircraft prior to exam, not having appropriate eligibility (incorrect times, hours, endorsement, etc)
Checkrides Outside of KPRC: Extra fees will include, travel time, travel cost (gas/plane ticket, hotel, rental car). This will vary on a case by case basis, depending on where the exam is done. I frequently go to the PHX area to include airports such as KDVT, KFFZ, KCHD, KGYR, KGEU
Practical Exam Details:
Your checkride is scheduled for a total of 6 hours. The recheck or continuance may vary depending on the Tasks remaining. To ensure we can complete the checkride within this timeframe, it is crucial that we use this period effectively. The initial step of validating the eligibility of both the applicant and the airplane for the checkride should be completed within the first hour. I will send over an eligibility checklist with the XC scenario when we get scheduled.
Below are some recommendations to help speed up this process:
-Verify that your full legal name is exactly the same on all of the following documents: government-issued ID, pilot certificate, medical certificate, and knowledge test results. If this is not, please correct before the day of the checkride
-Ensure that each column of each page of your logbook is complete and correctly added up.
-Bring a paper copy of all pertinent documents: Medical, knowledge test. If applicable: letter of discontinuance, notice of disapproval
-Mark with a post-it note/sticky notes any logbook entries that are to be used to meet requirements for the checkride
-All checkrides- Checkride endorsments AC 61.65J
-Validating Aircraft: Makes sure you have all necessary documents and maintenances log entries necessary to demonstrate the aircraft is airworthy. Please be sure to include the airworthiness compliance record
